On the stand, she claimed she did not realize that her licence was suspended!! Yeah, sure..I believe her. After all, what with all the legal jargon they threw at her during her sentencing for DUI, I would be confused myself!!! I mean, really. What does " you have been found guilty of DUI and your licence has been suspended " mean? If there are any lawyers out there, please explain it to me.

The darling of the Jet-Set is supposed to report to a women's jail in suburban Lynwood on June 5th or face additional time for failing to appear. I'm taking bets now on that one!!

How is this going to affect her? NOT AT ALL! The only good that will come from this is all in her favor. A book about her hard time, numerous appearances on Larry King and the like, and I'm sure at least one made-for-tv movie. Don't get me wrong, I am very much in favor of actually penalizing those who flaunt the law, especially high profile people, but what I am not in favor of is just how much positive feedback she will get from all this. What with the support of her legions of fans, the press, and the outpouring of sympathy from other high profile celebrities, this is hardly a learning experience at all for her. If this were you or I who was in her shoes, our lives would be devastated. We would probably lose our jobs, some friends, create havoc in our relationships, and leave us with an embarrassing mess that would take years to climb up from. But not Paris. You can bet your ASS that she will be the honored guest at several 'Got Out Of Jail ' parties which will keep her going until the spotlight dims on her again and she finds a new way to light up the public's imagination.

Good ol' Conrad Hilton must be spinning in his grave.

Fashion first at CNN

This is the top story right now on the CNN political ticker
And I Quote

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- From a fashion standpoint, striped ties were the clear winner at Thursday's Republican presidential debate. Tommy Thompson, Texas Rep. Ron Paul and even the debate moderator all wore some form of striped tie.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and California Rep.
